Information on insurance cover
COVID-19 update – 26th June 2020
Following the declaration of a pandemic by the World Health Organisation, some guarantees in our travel policies may not be applicable. Please always refer to the "Exclusions" in the policy conditions of your chosen product.
Please do not take out travel insurance policies with dates of stay that coincide with travel bans issued by the authorities. For the period of travel during which the veto is in place, the policies purchased will have extremely limited insurance cover, as specified above.
Trip Cancellation cover
Cancellation cover excludes epidemics with pandemic characteristics.
If you have this cover and if your trip has been cancelled, please contact the organiser (e.g. tour operator, airline, accommodation) with whom you have signed the service contract, in order to cancel or modify your travel insurance cover purchased with Allianz Global Assistance.
Some tour operators may offer the possibility to cancel or postpone trips. In this case, you can cancel or change your travel insurance cover purchased with Allianz Global Assistance.
Assistance and Medical Expenses Cover
Travel insurance excludes epidemics with pandemic characteristics.
Following the recent declaration of a pandemic by the World Health Organisation, some of the guarantees contained in the policy may therefore not be applicable if the cause of the illness is directly or indirectly linked to COVID-19.
